In this session, we will discuss some of the recommended migration approaches, key pitfalls to avoid, and tips to maintain consistent service levels in order to more effectively transfer content onto SharePoint 2010.

With several years of experience in optimizing Microsoft NTFS storage access and availability underlying complex SQL deployments, his contributions to the SharePoint community have earned him speaking opportunities at technical conferences, symposiums and user groups throughout North America
SharePoint 2010 and Access 2010 offer a new way of hosting organizational data in a relational, secure, backed-up, accessible environment. Access applications can be built using a familiar, rapid development environment, then those applications can be published to SharePoint as a web application. The resulting Access web app has high fidelity to the desktop Access UI but can run in any browser. Armen will discuss the pros and cons of this new approach, and will demonstrate a simple Access/SharePoint web application.

Brett Stallman and Walt Morrison from RedTech will demonstrate and discuss the SharePoint 2010 Productivity Hub - a real-world SharePoint 2010 solution that RedTech developed for Microsoft customers. The Productivity Hub is a free, customizable SharePoint solution that allows enterprises to leverage SharePoint to deliver online technical training. RedTech worked closely with Microsoft to integrate custom Silverlight web parts and leverage native SharePoint features such as dataviews ratings, and keyword tags. The resulting solution provides end users with over 1 GB worth of content focused on improving information worker productivity. Additionally, RedTech will discuss ways this solution has been customized by various enterprises to help manage internal training content, intellectual assets and to enable cut and paste video blogging
